How we Built our |
While the Sonex aircraft kit provides a set of plans for building the aircraft, there is no procedural documentation with these plans. These videos will demonstrate a procedure and method for building that you can follow (or modify). Using these videos, you will shave hours and hours off your building time as you eliminate many head scratching moments deciphering the plans supplied with your kit. Proper sequencing of building assemblies is important so as to not "rivet yourself into a corner" which would require undoig your work to add a missed component. Because the Sonex Tail is often the first section of the aircraft to be built, a chapter in this DVD series is devoted to the beginning builder. This chapter demonstrates the use of tools and techniques useful for successful building of the entire Sonex aircraft. Specifics include working with metal, riveting, and deburring. This DVD set is perfect for the first time builder! The video content includes demonstrations on building the components included in the Sonex Tail Kit (rudder, vertical and horizontal stabilizers, elevator). Watching this DVD is the next best thing to attending a builder's workshop! The page number of the plans for each step is shown in the lower bottom corner of the screen at all times!
